Shopify Marketplace Connect and QuickSync, side by side
Marketplace Connect is Shopify’s own app: free to install, four marketplaces, and 1% of every synced order above the first fifty each month. QuickSync prices the catalogue instead of the orders, and connects shops that do not sit downstream of Shopify. The table decides which one your setup wants.

What to weigh before you switch
Price shape, sync window, and shop cap. Not a feature checklist.
The fee follows orders, the plan does not
Marketplace Connect is free for the first fifty marketplace-synced orders each month, then charges 1% per additional synced order up to $99 a month. QuickSync prices the catalogue and the shop count, so a busy month and a quiet one cost the same. Below fifty orders Marketplace Connect is free and QuickSync is not, which is the plain answer for a small shop. Where the crossover lands above that depends on your volume, and the app listing carries the current terms.
Shopify has to be in the middle
Marketplace Connect works outward from a Shopify store, which is the right shape when Shopify holds the catalogue and the marketplaces are extra shelves. It is the wrong shape when the count that matters lives in a Square or Clover till, or when two shops need to agree without Shopify between them. QuickSync has no hub: any two of the twelve are kept level, and one of them being Shopify is optional.
What QuickSync will not match
It does not create listings. Marketplace Connect does bulk uploads, custom listings, multi-location fulfilment and local currency conversion, it is free to install, and Shopify supports it directly. Amazon also accepts no tracking number from us, so fulfilment details stay in QuickSync rather than reaching the buyer. If publishing listings out of Shopify is the job, the official app is the answer and this page is not an argument against it.

Questions sellers ask when they compare
Is QuickSync a Marketplace Connect alternative?
For part of it. Both keep stock level between Shopify and a marketplace. Marketplace Connect also publishes listings and handles multi-location fulfilment, which QuickSync does not. QuickSync also covers Square, Clover, Lightspeed, QuickBooks, Wix, Squarespace and TikTok Shop, which Marketplace Connect does not. Pick on the half you actually need.
Which one costs less?
Under fifty marketplace-synced orders a month, Marketplace Connect, because it is free there and QuickSync starts at $19. Above that its fee is 1% per additional synced order up to $99 a month, while a QuickSync plan stays where it is whatever the month brings. Read the current terms on the app listing and set them next to /pricing/.
Can I run both?
Yes, and it is a reasonable setup: Marketplace Connect to publish listings out of Shopify, QuickSync to keep the shops that are not downstream of Shopify level with it. In that arrangement they are not competing for the same job.
Does QuickSync send tracking to Amazon?
No. Amazon accepts no tracking number from us, so it stays in QuickSync. That is a limit worth knowing before you move anything.
Where should I read next?
Open the Shopify and Amazon pair page for what moves between those two, or pricing models if the bill shape is the question.
