Etsy Limits: Know What to Expect
Etsy has a few platform rules that affect how integrations work. QuickSync is built to handle them without hiding the limitations.
Etsy Updates Run on a Schedule
Etsy does not provide instant inventory and order notifications to QuickSync. Inventory is checked every two minutes, while orders are checked every five minutes.
Etsy Orders Cannot Be Created
Etsy does not allow apps to create orders, so orders from other channels cannot be sent into Etsy. Etsy orders can still flow into QuickSync for management and fulfillment through a supported connected store.
Etsy Supports Two Option Groups
Etsy allows two option groups per listing. If a product has three, QuickSync can combine two into one, such as Color / Size and Material, so the listing fits Etsy’s structure.
One SKU Per Etsy Listing
If multiple Etsy listings in the same shop use the same SKU, QuickSync flags them instead of guessing which listing should control the inventory.
Nothing publishes itself
Product listings do not publish to Etsy automatically. Review your changes first. Inventory can sync automatically once you enable the relevant direction.

Questions Etsy sellers ask
How quickly does QuickSync know about a Etsy sale?
Etsy has no way to tell us the moment something sells, so we check it on a timer: stock every two minutes, orders every five. Keeping a little safety stock on your best sellers is the honest way to cover that gap. Once we have the sale, correcting every other shop takes a fraction of a second, or a second or two on Amazon and eBay. Sending a change the other way is quick too. It is only finding out about Etsy’s own sales that waits for the next look.
What does QuickSync get access to on Etsy?
Your products and stock, and your orders, and nothing beyond what the jobs in the table above need. Payment card details are never part of what we receive. You can withdraw the access from the Etsy side whenever you like, and we stop.
Will connecting Etsy change my listings?
No. Nothing on Etsy is edited, published or unpublished until you turn a direction on, and copying a listing onto Etsy always waits for you to look at it first. Most sellers leave it watching for a few days and check the numbers agree before letting it make any changes.
Can orders from my other shops be sent into Etsy?
No. Etsy does not allow any app to create orders on it, and it hands its orders out only. Six of the eleven integrations can be the shop that fills an order taken somewhere else, so you pick one of those as your packing bench. Your Etsy orders still land in the same list.
Does the tracking number go back to Etsy?
Yes. Add the number to the order in QuickSync and we send it back to Etsy on its own, and the buyer gets Etsy’s normal notification. It is one fewer thing to do twice.
