Searches for a Shopify Square integration mix up two different problems, and half the frustration in the reviews comes from picking a tool built for the other one. The payments question has a short answer: Shopify’s checkout doesn’t offer Square as a card processor, and no app changes that. The inventory question is the real decision: a register and a website selling the same stock, each needing the other’s count corrected the moment something sells.

Three apps do that second job with real track records, and there’s a fourth route people try first. Every figure below was read from each app’s own Shopify App Store listing on 24 August 2026. QuickSync is one of the three, and the sections say where each one wins, ours included.

First: what no app can do

Square can’t take the payment on your Shopify checkout. Shopify decides which processors its checkout supports and Square isn’t one, so a shopper on your website pays through Shopify Payments or another supported gateway, and a customer at the counter pays through Square. The apps on this page leave payments exactly where they are; what they move is the catalogue, the stock count and the orders. Our Shopify Square integration page lays out what moves, cell by cell.

QuickSync ‑ All in One

4.8 stars across 479 reviews, free to install, $19 a month for two connected shops. Both sides announce sales the moment they happen, so a counter sale takes one off the website in about a second and a website sale does the same to the register. Stock you edit inside Square yourself is picked up on the next check a couple of minutes later. Products, prices and orders move too, and matching is by SKU first so an existing catalogue on both sides links up rather than duplicating.

The shape argument is the same one that decides most of these choices: the $19 plan isn’t a Shopify–Square pipe, it’s two of up to eight connected shops. When the same stock later sells on Etsy or eBay or a second Square location, they join the same count instead of needing another tool.

Where it falls short: Square has no field for a tracking number, so shipping detail on a Square-side order stays in QuickSync and the shop the order came from; and an operation past eight integrations has outgrown the plan shape.

DPL Square Integration

The highest score here, 4.9 across 229 reviews, with 24/7 support in the title and plans from $39.99 to $99.99 a month. It does the Shopify–Square job well and reviewers repeatedly credit the support team by name.

Two boundaries: the entry price is twice ours for the same pair of shops, and it’s a one-to-one pipe, so a third place selling the same stock means a second tool.

Octopus Bridge

24Seven Commerce has connected registers to webstores since before Shopify was the default, and Octopus Bridge carries that pedigree: near-real-time sync between Square and Shopify, with the same vendor bridging Lightspeed, Clover and a long list of other POS systems. There’s a free tier, and paid plans run from $59 to $119 a month.

Its Shopify listing shows no review score yet, so you’re trusting the vendor’s history rather than visible ratings, and “near real-time” is worth pinning down on a call before a busy weekend.

The automation-platform route

Zapier-style tools come up in every search on this subject, and for one-way errands they’re the right answer: a Square sale adding a row to a spreadsheet, a new customer joining a mailing list. Stock is not an errand. It’s one number two shops have to agree on in both directions, including when a counter sale and a website sale land in the same minute, and a chain of triggers has no answer for the moment both fire at once.

The verdict, by fit

  • Choose DPL if you want a dedicated Shopify–Square pipe, plan to lean on support, and the $39.99 floor doesn’t sting.
  • Choose Octopus Bridge if you’re coming from the POS world, especially if the same vendor already bridges your other registers.
  • Choose QuickSync if $19 should cover the till and the website on one count, with the door open to Etsy, eBay or a second location joining it later.
  • Choose an automation platform only for one-way jobs that aren’t stock.
