Deleting a product in your main store can delete its copies in your other stores. That only happens while product syncing is on. Delete a copy anywhere else, and only that copy goes. Archiving or hiding a product doesn’t delete anything, though it can stop that product syncing.
Below, action by action, plus how to stop syncing one product and what the Archived and Draft statuses mean.
In your main store
| In your main store, you | With product syncing on | With product syncing off |
|---|---|---|
| Delete the product | We can delete its linked copies in your other stores | The copies stay, but stop syncing stock with it |
| Archive it | The copies stay as they are, with their last stock count | The copies stay as they are, with their last stock count |
| Move it to draft | It keeps syncing, Shopify and WooCommerce copies become drafts too, and Wix and Squarespace copies are hidden | It keeps syncing stock, and the copies don’t change |
A delete really deletes. We remove a linked copy through that store’s own delete, and we can’t bring it back. That can include a listing you made yourself and matched by SKU. To keep the copies, turn off the switch on the Product Syncing card before you delete.
Archiving works differently. We stop syncing an archived product. Its copies keep selling at their last count until you archive them too. An Etsy or TikTok Shop listing keeps whatever state it’s in when your main store’s product moves to draft. Hiding counts as archiving or drafting, depending on the store, as the statuses section explains.
In your other stores
- Delete a copy. Only that copy goes. We drop its links. Your main store’s product stays. With product syncing on, the next change to it in your main store creates the copy again.
- Archive or hide a copy. We keep its links, and it shows its state under Needs attention, such as Archived. With product syncing on, the next change in your main store can set it back to the main store’s status. An Etsy or TikTok Shop listing keeps the state you gave it.
To remove a product from one store for good, take it off your sync list first, or turn product syncing off. Then delete it in that store.
Stock and matches
A match is our link between a product and its twin in another store. Deleting a product removes its matches, so its copies stop syncing stock with it. They keep the count they had. They wait under Needs attention until you delete them too or match them again. To match again, add the product back with the same SKU and click Sync products.
Does QuickSync delete listings?
Yes, in these cases:
- You delete a product in your main store while product syncing is on. We can delete its linked copies.
- You remove a variant, such as one size, in your main store while product syncing is on. We can remove it from the copies too. Clover keeps each variant as its own item, so there it deletes that item.
- We’re creating a new Etsy listing, and Etsy rejects it halfway. We remove the half-made listing we started.
Connecting a store doesn’t delete anything. Disconnecting a store removes our copy of its products, not the products. Uninstalling QuickSync from the store you signed up through goes further: it deletes your whole QuickSync account, though your products stay in your stores. Taking a product off your sync list or marking it resolved doesn’t touch your stores either.
Stop syncing one product
There’s no pause for a single product. A sync list does the job, and it doesn’t delete anything:
- Open Products and click Sync products.
- On Which products do you want to sync?, pick Choose products.
- Tick Select all, then untick the product you want to stop.
- Continue through setup and press Start syncing.
The product keeps its listings and last count everywhere. It’ll show as Not in your sync list. The rest carry on syncing. The run also sets their stock to your starting store’s counts, so check those first. More in Sync only some products.
Archived and Draft statuses
Each store has a Product status filter that decides which states sync. It’s on by default with Active and Draft ticked, so a draft syncs and an archived product doesn’t. A product in a state its store doesn’t sync waits under Needs attention, with its state as the issue: Archived, Inactive, Unlisted, or Draft if you untick drafts. In the issue filter, they’re all Product not visible.
We read each platform’s own states into these few. Archived covers a product archived in Shopify, Square or Lightspeed, hidden in Clover, private in WooCommerce or expired on Etsy. An unlisted Shopify product works the same way. A hidden Wix product reads as Draft, so it keeps syncing unless you untick Draft.

To change the filter, open Settings, then Stores, and click Manage on the store. It’s under Product eligibility. Ticking Inactive lets archived products sync too. Click Save changes when you’re done.
Be careful with the fix button Allow this status & sync on a single product. It adds that state to the store’s filter, so it applies to every product in that store with the same state, not only this one.
If you archived products on purpose, that’s fine: leave them. To clear them from the tab, select them under Needs attention and click Mark as resolved. They’ll stay archived and unsynced. Show resolved lists them again.
Remove a product from QuickSync
There’s no delete button in QuickSync. Delete the product in its store, and we drop it from QuickSync when we hear about it. Shopify, WooCommerce, Square, Clover and Wix tell us. Etsy and Squarespace don’t, so a product you delete there stays in QuickSync until we next try to read or update it.
Common questions
Will deleting a product on Shopify delete it on Etsy?
It can. If Shopify is your main store and product syncing is on, deleting a product there can delete the Etsy listing linked to it. If you’d like to keep that listing, turn product syncing off first. If product syncing is off, or Shopify isn’t your main store, the Etsy listing stays and stops syncing stock with the deleted product. Deleting the Etsy copy never touches Shopify.
Does QuickSync delete my products if I uninstall it or disconnect a store?
Not in your stores. Disconnecting a store deletes our copy of its products and stops syncing it, but every product stays in the store. Take care with uninstalling: removing QuickSync from the store you signed up through deletes your whole QuickSync account, with every connected store, setting and login. Your products still stay put. Deleting a product in your main store with product syncing on is different, as it can remove the linked copies.
Why does a product I deleted still show in QuickSync?
Etsy and Squarespace don’t tell us when you delete a listing. It’ll stay in QuickSync until we next try to read or update it and find it gone. Shopify, WooCommerce, Square, Clover and Wix report deletions, so we drop those products when we hear. If a leftover row sits under Needs attention, select it and click Mark as resolved to clear it.
Why are my archived products under Needs attention?
Each store’s Product status filter syncs Active and Draft products by default, so we can’t sync an archived one. Needs attention lists it with the issue Archived. Nothing’s wrong if you archived it on purpose: select those rows and click Mark as resolved to clear them. Don’t use Allow this status & sync unless you want every archived product in that store to sync.
How do I stop syncing one product without deleting it?
Use a sync list. Click Sync products, pick Choose products, tick Select all, then untick the product you want to stop and press Start syncing. That product keeps its listings and last stock count in every store, but we won’t sync it. Everything still ticked carries on. The run sets their stock to your starting store’s counts, so check those first.
