Shopventory became Thrive by Shopventory and then Thrive Inventory, and the product it describes is a back office for retail: purchase orders, transfers between locations, vendor management, bundles and recipes, forecasting and reporting, wrapped around a stock sync between Square, Clover or Shopify POS and a Shopify, Square Online, WooCommerce or BigCommerce store. For a multi-location retailer that’s a lot of the job.

Retailers look elsewhere when the bill meters transactions and jumps in large steps, when the marketplaces they’ve added aren’t connected, or when all they needed was the sync. This guide compares seven alternatives on how they connect a till, what sets the price, which channels they reach, and what each can’t do. QuickSync is one of them.

Shopventory is now Thrive: what changed

The rename came with the pricing model the product has today: plans are defined by transactions a month, the number of location-integrations and the number of users, with SKUs unlimited. The Shopify App Store listing still carries the Shopventory name and a 4.6-star average across 105 reviews; Capterra shows 117 reviews at 99% positive. Complaints are about tier jumps with no à la carte option, transfers becoming slow at multi-store scale, and chat-only support.

Why retailers look for alternatives

  • Metered on transactions. A counter that does 1,600 sales in December crosses Starter. The next tier is more than double.
  • No marketplaces. Amazon, eBay, Etsy and TikTok Shop aren’t connected, so a retailer who lists on any of them runs two systems.
  • Reporting-first. If the problem is only that the till and the website disagree, the purchase-order and vendor modules are features you’re paying for and not opening.
  • The integration count. Each location and each store is one integration against the plan’s allowance; a second store on Starter is a plan change.

The 7 best Thrive Inventory alternatives

1. QuickSync: the sync, priced on the catalogue

QuickSync connects Square, Clover and Lightspeed to up to seven more shops across Shopify, WooCommerce, Squarespace, Etsy, eBay, Amazon, TikTok Shop and QuickBooks, and keeps one count across all of them. The three tills push to it the moment something scans and the correction reaches the other shops in under a second. Plans are by variation count, $19 a month for 1,000 items and two shops up to $99 for 20,000, with each extra shop adding the plan price. Transactions never meter it: 1,600 sales in December costs the same as 160.

Where it doesn’t fit: no purchase orders, transfers, vendor management or forecasting, which is most of what Thrive sells beyond the sync. None of the three tills take a tracking number back. Eight connected shops is a hard cap. QuickSync and Thrive side by side.

2. SKU IQ: one till, one store

SKU IQ pairs Square, Clover or Lightspeed with one online store: quantity sync at $19 a month, attributes and auto-push at $49, images and priority sync at $99, $10 per extra location. It is the narrowest tool here and the right one if a single pairing is the whole problem.

Where it doesn’t fit: no marketplaces, no purchase orders, and the recurring review theme is disconnects (4.1 stars, 120 reviews). Source: skuiq.com/pricing. SKU IQ alternatives, compared.

3. Trunk: Square plus marketplaces, with bundles

Trunk connects Square to Shopify, Squarespace, Wix, WooCommerce, Etsy, eBay, Amazon, Walmart, Faire, TikTok and QuickBooks Online, syncs in real time on order events, and handles bundles and kits on Pro. $35 a month to 100 orders, stepping to $279 at 10,000. 4.9 stars on 391 Shopify reviews.

Where it doesn’t fit: no Clover, no purchase orders, and the bill moves with order bands. Source: help.trunkinventory.com pricing article.

4. Zoho Inventory: purchase orders without a till

Zoho Inventory keeps the purchase orders, serial and batch tracking, multi-warehouse and native accounting sync that Thrive users rely on, connected to Shopify, Amazon, eBay, Etsy and WooCommerce. Free to 50 orders a month, then $29 a month billed annually for 500 orders, $79, $129, $249.

Where it doesn’t fit: no Square, Clover or Lightspeed, so the counter isn’t in the loop. US prices confirmed through third-party listings. Source: zoho.com/inventory/pricing, capterra.com.

5. Cin7 Core: the step up

Cin7 Core (formerly DEAR) is the enterprise-lite direction: order routing, multi-warehouse, B2B, manufacturing, its own POS add-on, Square as a sales channel, and native QuickBooks Online and Xero. Standard is $349 a month for five users, 6,000 orders a year and two integrations; Pro $599; Advanced $1,199. Implementations run four to twelve weeks.

Where it doesn’t fit: the price and the project. No Clover; TikTok Shop only through paid middleware. G2 reviews at 4.2 cite billing complexity and cost growth. Source: cin7.com/pricing.

6. Square’s own tools: stay inside Square

If the till is Square and the website could be Square Online, there is nothing to sync: one catalogue, one count, free with the account and processing fees per sale. Square for Retail Plus adds basic purchase orders, vendor lists and multi-location stock per location.

Where it doesn’t fit: you want Shopify or WooCommerce, a marketplace, or Clover.

7. Lightspeed Retail: the till with inventory built in

Lightspeed Retail is a POS with purchase orders, multi-location and vendor management native, plus its own e-commerce and integrations. For a retailer choosing a till as well as an inventory system, it collapses the two. Pricing is per register with add-ons and varies by region and edition.

Where it doesn’t fit: it’s a platform change, not an app; and if you also sell on Etsy or eBay you’ll still connect a sync tool to it. QuickSync connects Lightspeed, with the caveat that Lightspeed marks a sale shipped without keeping the tracking number.

Best pick by setup

  • Square and Shopify: QuickSync from $19 if the sync is the problem; Trunk for bundles; Thrive stays the pick if you live in purchase orders. Shopify + Square.
  • Clover and WooCommerce: QuickSync or SKU IQ; Trunk and Zoho don’t connect Clover. Clover integration.
  • Several Square locations: Square for Retail Plus for the locations themselves; QuickSync to keep the website and marketplaces on the same count. Syncing multiple Square accounts.
  • Liquor, convenience or a counter-heavy shop: the till pushes every scan to QuickSync in under a second, which is the part that matters on a Saturday. Liquor store inventory, convenience store inventory.
