The limits: know them before you connect
Every Squarespace Clover integration has constraints. These are the ones that apply here.
Sales are instant; stock edits wait
A sale on either side reaches the other in under a second. Stock you edit yourself inside Squarespace is the slower path: we check that every couple of minutes.
No tracking number back to Clover
Clover has no field for a tracking number, so we cannot write one back. If you also ship from the same stock, the tracking stays in QuickSync rather than on the Clover order.
Nothing publishes itself to Squarespace or Clover
Copying a listing from Squarespace to Clover (or the other way) always waits for you to look at it. Stock is the only thing that moves on its own, and only once you have turned it on.
Squarespace announces orders but not the stock you edit yourself

A Squarespace order reaches us as soon as it is placed, because Squarespace tells us about it. A quantity you change by hand inside Squarespace is a different matter: there is no announcement for that one, so we check every couple of minutes and pick it up on the next pass. Knowing which of those two you are doing explains most of the timing questions people ask about this pair.
In practice a sale on either side is handled quickly, and the only lag worth planning around is you editing a Squarespace quantity and expecting the register to know within seconds. If you run a stock take in the website admin, give it a couple of minutes before you trust what Clover shows. A small buffer on your fastest sellers covers the same window without you having to think about it.
Squarespace is the tighter side at 60 characters
Clover takes 100, so the shorter of the two limits is the one that governs.
Items pair up by SKU, which makes the shorter limit the one your catalogue has to live inside. Squarespace holds 60 characters and Clover 100, so 60 is the number to design to. Go past it and the code gets cut short as it crosses into Squarespace, at which point it no longer matches the item it belongs to. That failure is quiet by nature: no error, no red flag, just a count that has stopped moving on the lines you sell most of.
The other thing to know before you start is tracking. Clover has no field for us to write a tracking number into, so an order you post from stock that sold at the register keeps its tracking in QuickSync rather than on the Clover sale. Squarespace orders take a tracking number in the normal way, so the gap sits on one side of this pair only, and it is a Clover limit rather than ours.

How quickly does Clover update after something sells on Squarespace?
Under a second in normal conditions. Squarespace tells us the moment the sale happens and we write the new count to Clover straight away. The reverse is the same when Clover sells. If either side is briefly unreachable we hold the update and keep trying rather than dropping it.
Does Clover sync with Squarespace?
Not on its own. Neither platform reads the other’s catalogue, so keeping one stock count between a Clover till and a Squarespace shop takes a tool in the middle. QuickSync matches items by SKU and corrects each side from the other, so a counter sale lowers the website and a web order lowers what the register will sell.
How quickly does Squarespace stock reach Clover?
Orders are immediate, because Squarespace tells us the moment one is placed.
