Shopify Lightspeed integration that keeps the register and the online shop in step
For shops that take money on a Lightspeed register and also sell online through Shopify. Lightspeed records a sale as fulfilled but does not store the carrier or tracking number, so Shopify carries the full dispatch record and Lightspeed carries the fact of it. Both sides tell us the moment something sells, so the other is corrected in under a second.

What a Shopify Lightspeed integration actually moves
One row per job, based on how QuickSync connects to Shopify and Lightspeed today. Where a side does not allow something, the cell says so.

Running the register and the other channel by hand
A Lightspeed counter sale that never reaches Shopify is how you oversell online. Holding a buffer in both places so you cannot is how you sit on stock you could have sold.
| Two shops, run by hand | Two shops, connected |
|---|---|
| The last one sells in both shops within the same hour | Whichever shop sells it, the other one drops to match |
| Typing the same stock numbers into Shopify and Lightspeed each morning | One count, sent to both, without anyone opening a spreadsheet |
| Changing a price means editing the same product twice | Change it once and each shop gets the price you set for it |
| Orders in two dashboards, matched up by hand at the end of the week | Every order already matched to the right product |
| A refund leaves your numbers wrong until someone notices | A refund puts the stock back and tells both shops |
| Guessing how stale each shop’s number is | A sale on either shop reaches the other in under a second |
One Lightspeed order, start to finish
Real timings, second by second.
Correcting Shopify takes under a second once we have the sale. The order is in your packing list with the Lightspeed order number on it.
The other direction is the same: a sale on Shopify reaches Lightspeed just as quickly, because Shopify pushes it to us the moment it happens too.
Connecting Shopify and Lightspeed takes about ten minutes
Most of that is us matching your catalogues. The two connections themselves are a login each.
Connect Shopify
You approve QuickSync from the Shopify app store. Shopify asks which permissions to grant and you can withdraw them from the Shopify side at any time.
Connect Lightspeed
You sign in to Lightspeed X-Series and approve QuickSync for the outlet you want connected.
Let it match your products
We line the two catalogues up by SKU, then by title, and hand you a short list of anything we could not match. You decide what happens to those.
Watch, then switch it on
Leave it watching for a few days and check the numbers agree. When you are happy, let it start making changes, one shop at a time.
The limits: know them before you connect
Every Shopify Lightspeed integration has constraints. These are the ones that apply here.
Quick between Shopify and Lightspeed
Both Shopify and Lightspeed tell us the moment something sells, so a sale in one is reflected in the other in under a second. There is no polling gap on this pair.
Lightspeed marks it shipped, without the number
Lightspeed records a sale as fulfilled but does not keep a carrier or tracking number against it. We mark it shipped and the number stays visible in QuickSync.
Nothing publishes itself to Shopify or Lightspeed
Copying a listing from Shopify to Lightspeed (or the other way) always waits for you to look at it. Stock is the only thing that moves on its own, and only once you have turned it on.
Lightspeed marks it shipped without keeping the number
Half a handshake, and worth knowing before you route posted orders through the till.
When you ship an order that came from Lightspeed, we tell Lightspeed the sale is fulfilled and it records exactly that. What it does not do is keep the carrier or the tracking number against the sale, because Lightspeed has nowhere to put them. So the sale stops looking outstanding, and the number that tells a customer where their parcel is does not live there.
The tracking number itself is not lost. It stays visible in QuickSync and on the Shopify order if that is where the sale started, which covers the common case of a customer emailing to ask. It only bites if your process is for someone to open Lightspeed and read the tracking off the sale, because that is the one place it will not be.
We would rather write this down than let you find it in week three. Lightspeed’s own integration is explicit about the limit, and a page that quietly said tracking syncs both ways would be wrong in a way you would only discover with a customer on the phone.
Lightspeed takes 64 characters of SKU
Shopify holds 255, so this is the length to design to.
Items pair up by SKU, and the shorter of the two limits is the one that governs. Shopify will store a SKU up to 255 characters; Lightspeed takes 64. Anything longer is truncated on the way across and then stops matching the item it came from, which shows up later as a count that will not move rather than as an error.
Sixty-four characters is generous enough that most catalogues never notice, so this is a five-minute check rather than a project. Sort by SKU length, look at the top of the list, and shorten anything that runs over before you turn sync on.
Neither side is on a timer
Both tell us the moment something happens, which is not true of every pair.
Shopify and Lightspeed both announce their changes to us, so a sale at the counter and a sale on the website each reach the other side without waiting for a scheduled check. Several channels we support cannot do this and have to be polled every couple of minutes; this pair is not one of them.
That matters on a busy Saturday rather than an ordinary Tuesday. If the same item sells in the shop and online inside the same minute, the second sale is not sitting behind a timer waiting to be noticed, which is the situation that produces an oversell.
Two shops fits the smallest plan
Your catalogue size picks the plan, and your plan price covers two connected shops with every shop after that adding it again. Three shops on Lite is $38 a month.
Lite
$19/mo for two shops1,000 items and up to eight connected integrations, with stock matched on both sides automatically. Enough for Shopify and Lightspeed on their own, at $19 a month for the two.
Pro
$29/mo for two shops2,500 items and up to eight connected integrations. Listings and orders sync here as well as stock. Most sellers running two shops properly end up here.
Ultra at $69 and Ultra+ at $99 add larger catalogues, price rules and setup help. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial and no card.
Questions people ask about this pair
How quickly does Lightspeed update after something sells on Shopify?
Under a second in normal conditions. Shopify tells us the moment the sale happens and we write the new count to Lightspeed straight away. The reverse is the same when Lightspeed sells. If either side is briefly unreachable we hold the update and keep trying rather than dropping it.
Does QuickSync send tracking numbers to Lightspeed?
We mark the sale fulfilled in Lightspeed, but Lightspeed does not store a carrier or tracking number against it, so the number itself stays in QuickSync and on the originating shop’s order. The sale stops showing as outstanding; the tracking detail just lives somewhere else.
How fast does stock move between Shopify and Lightspeed?
Both platforms tell us the moment something changes rather than waiting to be asked, so a sale on either side reaches the other in about a second. Neither is polled on a timer, which is not true of every channel we support.
Do I have to re-list my Shopify products on Lightspeed?
No. We match your existing Shopify and Lightspeed listings by SKU first, then by title, and hand you a short list of whatever we could not match. You can also copy a listing from one side to the other if you want it in both places; that step always waits for you.
Can I charge a different price on Lightspeed?
Yes. Set a rule once for Lightspeed: a percentage, a fixed uplift, or a price you type yourself. We apply it whenever the price changes, and nothing forces Shopify and Lightspeed to the same number.
Does the tracking number go back to both shops?
On Lightspeed we mark the sale shipped, but Lightspeed does not keep the carrier or tracking number, so that detail stays visible in QuickSync. The other side gets the full number when it accepts one.
What happens if a buyer cancels or I refund them on Shopify or Lightspeed?
The stock goes back. A cancellation or a refund puts the item back into your count and we send the corrected number to both Shopify and Lightspeed.
Which plan do I need for Shopify and Lightspeed?
Lite covers Shopify and Lightspeed. Lite is $19 a month for two shops and holds 1,000 items, with up to eight connected integrations. You would move up a plan for catalogue size, and your bill goes up by another $19 if you connect a third shop.
