Clover Lightspeed integration that keeps one stock count
For businesses running Clover at one site and Lightspeed at another. Both are registers rather than shops, so this pair is one stock count across two counters, with Lightspeed’s 64-character SKU as the limit both have to fit. Both sides tell us the moment something sells, so the other is corrected in under a second.

How to connect Clover and Lightspeed
Four steps and about ten minutes. The two connections are a login each; most of the time is us matching your catalogues, and nothing changes until you switch it on.
Connect Clover
You install QuickSync from the Clover app market on the merchant account that owns the register.
Connect Lightspeed
You sign in to Lightspeed X-Series and approve QuickSync for the outlet you want connected.
Let it match your products
We line the two catalogues up by SKU, then by title, and hand you a short list of anything we could not match. You decide what happens to those.
Watch, then switch it on
Leave it watching for a few days and check the numbers agree. When you are happy, let it start making changes, one shop at a time.

Running Clover and Lightspeed by hand
Nearly every problem selling on both Clover and Lightspeed comes from each side keeping its own count. Sell the last one twice and you oversell somebody.
| Two shops, run by hand | Two shops, connected |
|---|---|
| The last one sells in both shops within the same hour | Whichever shop sells it, the other one drops to match |
| Typing the same stock numbers into Clover and Lightspeed each morning | One count, sent to both, without anyone opening a spreadsheet |
| Changing a price means editing the same product twice | Change it once and each shop gets the price you set for it |
| Orders in two dashboards, matched up by hand at the end of the week | Every order already matched to the right product |
| A refund leaves your numbers wrong until someone notices | A refund puts the stock back and tells both shops |
| Guessing how stale each shop’s number is | A sale on either shop reaches the other in under a second |
One Lightspeed order, start to finish
Real timings, second by second.
Correcting Clover takes under a second once we have the sale. The order is in your packing list with the Lightspeed order number on it.
The other direction is the same: a sale on Clover reaches Lightspeed just as quickly, because Clover pushes it to us the moment it happens too.
The limits: know them before you connect
Every Clover Lightspeed integration has constraints. These are the ones that apply here.
Quick between Clover and Lightspeed
Both Clover and Lightspeed tell us the moment something sells, so a sale in one is reflected in the other in under a second. There is no polling gap on this pair.
No tracking number back to Clover
Clover has no field for a tracking number, so we cannot write one back. If you also ship from the same stock, the tracking stays in QuickSync rather than on the Clover order.
Nothing publishes itself to Clover or Lightspeed
Copying a listing from Clover to Lightspeed (or the other way) always waits for you to look at it. Stock is the only thing that moves on its own, and only once you have turned it on.
The two tills disagree about a posted order
Lightspeed records the sale as fulfilled. Clover has nowhere to record anything.
Ship an order that came from Lightspeed and we set it fulfilled, which is as far as Lightspeed can go: it stores no carrier and no tracking number against a sale. So the sale stops sitting in the outstanding list, and the one piece of information a waiting customer wants is not on the record. That is a limit of Lightspeed rather than a step we have skipped.
Clover does not go even that far. It has no field for a tracking number at all, so nothing about the parcel reaches the Clover record. Between the two, Lightspeed gives you half the handshake and Clover none of it, and the number itself stays in QuickSync either way. That is where to look, and where to point anyone on your team who asks.
None of this is unfinished work waiting on us, and a page telling you tracking flows both ways would be wrong in the way you only discover with a customer on the phone. If somebody reads shipping detail off a till as part of their day, this is the pair to plan that around before parcels start going out rather than after.
Lightspeed is the shorter side at 64 characters
Clover takes 100, so 64 is the number your codes have to fit.
Items pair up by SKU and the shorter limit governs. Clover will hold 100 characters and Lightspeed takes 64, so 64 is the ceiling for this pair. That is generous enough that most catalogues will never touch it, which makes this a five-minute check rather than a project. Order your item list by SKU length, glance at the longest few, and trim any that overshoot.
Do it before you connect rather than after, because the failure mode is silent. Anything over 64 characters is truncated on the way to Lightspeed and then no longer matches the item it came from. Nothing errors, no listing turns red, and the count for that item simply stops moving until somebody notices the two tills have started disagreeing with each other.
The speed side of this pair needs no planning at all. Clover and Lightspeed both report their changes to us as they happen, so neither is checked on a timer and a sale rung through at one counter reaches the other without waiting to be asked. Not every pair we support can say that, so it is worth knowing this one can.

Questions people ask about this pair
How quickly does Lightspeed update after something sells on Clover?
Under a second in normal conditions. Clover tells us the moment the sale happens and we write the new count to Lightspeed straight away. The reverse is the same when Lightspeed sells. If either side is briefly unreachable we hold the update and keep trying rather than dropping it.
Can Clover and Lightspeed use the same inventory count?
Yes. QuickSync sits between them, matches items by SKU and corrects each till from the other, so a sale on one lowers what the other will sell. Both push their changes to us as they happen, so neither is on a timer. Keep SKUs within 64 characters, which is Lightspeed’s limit.
Does Lightspeed get a tracking number when an order ships?
No. We mark the sale fulfilled in Lightspeed, but it does not store a carrier or a tracking number, so the number stays in QuickSync. Clover has no field for one either. The sale stops showing as outstanding in Lightspeed, and the shipping detail lives in QuickSync rather than on either till.
Do I have to re-list my Clover products on Lightspeed?
No. We match your existing Clover and Lightspeed listings by SKU first, then by title, and hand you a short list of whatever we could not match. You can also copy a listing from one side to the other if you want it in both places; that step always waits for you.
Can I charge a different price on Lightspeed?
Yes. Set a rule once for Lightspeed: a percentage, a fixed uplift, or a price you type yourself. We apply it whenever the price changes, and nothing forces Clover and Lightspeed to the same number.
Does the tracking number go back to both shops?
Not to Clover. Clover has no way for us to send a tracking number back. Counter sales rarely need one, but it is worth knowing if you also ship from the same stock. On Lightspeed we can mark the sale shipped, but the carrier and tracking number are not stored there.
What happens if a buyer cancels or I refund them on Clover or Lightspeed?
The stock goes back. A cancellation or a refund puts the item back into your count and we send the corrected number to both Clover and Lightspeed.
Which plan do I need for Clover and Lightspeed?
Lite covers Clover and Lightspeed. Lite is $19 a month for two shops and holds 1,000 items, with up to eight connected integrations. You would move up a plan for catalogue size, and your bill goes up by another $19 if you connect a third shop.
