Amazon Squarespace integration that keeps one stock count
For Squarespace shops that also list on Amazon. Amazon cuts a SKU at 20 characters against Squarespace’s 60, and it keeps its own count for anything held in FBA: your stock always goes out to Amazon, and only the items you ship yourself come back. Both shops tell us the moment something sells, so the other is corrected in a second or two. Stock you edit yourself inside Squarespace is the slower path: we pick that up every couple of minutes.

How to connect Amazon and Squarespace
Four steps and about ten minutes. The two connections are a login each; most of the time is us matching your catalogues, and nothing changes until you switch it on.
Connect Amazon
You authorise QuickSync in Seller Central for the marketplaces you sell in.
Connect Squarespace
You generate an API key in Squarespace and paste it into QuickSync.
Let it match your products
We line the two catalogues up by SKU, then by title, and hand you a short list of anything we could not match. You decide what happens to those.
Watch, then switch it on
Leave it watching for a few days and check the numbers agree. When you are happy, let it start making changes, one shop at a time.
What an Amazon Squarespace integration actually moves

Running Amazon and Squarespace by hand
Nearly every problem selling on both Amazon and Squarespace comes from each side keeping its own count. Sell the last one twice and you oversell somebody.
| Two shops, run by hand | Two shops, connected |
|---|---|
| The last one sells in both shops within the same hour | Whichever shop sells it, the other one drops to match |
| Typing the same stock numbers into Amazon and Squarespace each morning | One count, sent to both, without anyone opening a spreadsheet |
| Changing a price means editing the same product twice | Change it once and each shop gets the price you set for it |
| Orders in two dashboards, matched up by hand at the end of the week | Every order already matched to the right product |
| A refund leaves your numbers wrong until someone notices | A refund puts the stock back and tells both shops |
| Guessing how stale each shop’s number is | A sale on either shop reaches the other in a second or two |
One Squarespace order, start to finish
Real timings, second by second.
Correcting Amazon takes a second or two once we have the sale. The order is in your packing list with the Squarespace order number on it, and a tracking number added later goes back to Squarespace on its own.
The other direction is the same: a sale on Amazon reaches Squarespace just as quickly, because Amazon pushes it to us the moment it happens too.
The limits: know them before you connect
Every Amazon Squarespace integration has constraints. These are the ones that apply here.
Sales are instant; stock edits wait
A sale on either side reaches the other in a second or two. Stock you edit yourself inside Squarespace is the slower path: we check that every couple of minutes.
Stock Amazon holds is left alone
We always send your count to Amazon, but we only take changes back for items you ship yourself. Anything Amazon stores and ships keeps its own count, which is Amazon’s to own.
Nothing publishes itself to Amazon or Squarespace
Copying a listing from Amazon to Squarespace (or the other way) always waits for you to look at it. Stock is the only thing that moves on its own, and only once you have turned it on.
FBA stock is Amazon's to count, not ours
We always send your figure out. What comes back depends on who ships the item.
Every stock change we know about goes out to Amazon, so a Squarespace sale lowers what Amazon shows. The return trip is where the rule sits. Where you pack and post an item yourself, Amazon’s own adjustments come back to us and carry on to Squarespace. Where Amazon warehouses and ships it, we do not touch that figure. Which of your items are meant to agree depends entirely on that split.
The reason is that Amazon knows its own shelves. What happens inside those warehouses, from receipts to damages to returns, never comes past us, so writing our number over Amazon’s would be a guess dressed up as a sync. Leaving that count where it is means the items it covers are not supposed to match your Squarespace figure. A book number that quietly disagrees with a warehouse is worse than none.
Twenty characters, and a timer on one side
Amazon has the tightest SKU limit here; Squarespace has the one gap in reporting.
Squarespace will hold 60 characters of SKU. Amazon takes 20, which is the tightest limit we deal with anywhere. Since matching happens on the SKU, anything longer is truncated on the way to Amazon and then pairs with nothing. Codes built out of words reach twenty faster than you would think, so read your longest ones before you connect rather than after a count has drifted.
The timing gap is on the Squarespace side and it is narrow. Squarespace tells us about orders as they happen, but not about a quantity you edit yourself, so we check for that every couple of minutes. If you adjust a number in Squarespace and expect Amazon to know within seconds, that is the one case on this pair where you will be waiting.
Tracking is the last thing to plan for. Amazon offers nowhere to record a tracking number, so the number the carrier gives you lives in QuickSync and not on the Amazon order. That only affects you if somebody on your team reads tracking off the sale in Amazon itself, and if they do, it is far better they hear it now than in week three.
Two shops fits the smallest plan

Questions people ask about this pair
How quickly does Squarespace update after something sells on Amazon?
A second or two in normal conditions. Amazon tells us the moment the sale happens and we write the new count to Squarespace straight away. The reverse is the same when Squarespace sells. If either side is briefly unreachable we hold the update and keep trying rather than dropping it.
Can I sync Amazon inventory with a Squarespace store?
Yes, matched by SKU, with two caveats. Amazon truncates any SKU longer than 20 characters, so design to that. And stock that Amazon holds and ships keeps its own count deliberately, so those items are not meant to follow your Squarespace figure. Items you ship yourself sync in both directions.
Does QuickSync send tracking numbers to Amazon?
No. There is no field on Amazon that holds a tracking number, so we have nowhere to put one and it stays visible in QuickSync. If your team works out of Amazon and is used to reading tracking off the sale, that is the habit to change before you connect rather than after the first parcel goes out.
Do I have to re-list my Amazon products on Squarespace?
No. We match your existing Amazon and Squarespace listings by SKU first, then by title, and hand you a short list of whatever we could not match. You can also copy a listing from one side to the other if you want it in both places; that step always waits for you.
Can I charge a different price on Squarespace?
Yes. Set a rule once for Squarespace: a percentage, a fixed uplift, or a price you type yourself. We apply it whenever the price changes, and nothing forces Amazon and Squarespace to the same number.
Does the tracking number go back to both shops?
Not to Amazon. Amazon has no way for us to send a tracking number back.
Can I create an order on Squarespace from a sale on Amazon?
No. Amazon and Squarespace hand orders out and do not accept orders created elsewhere. We pull both into one packing list so you still work from one place; each order stays on the channel it came from.
What happens if a buyer cancels or I refund them on Amazon or Squarespace?
The stock goes back. A cancellation or a refund puts the item back into your count and we send the corrected number to both Amazon and Squarespace.
Which plan do I need for Amazon and Squarespace?
Lite covers Amazon and Squarespace. Lite is $19 a month for two shops and holds 1,000 items, with up to eight connected integrations. You would move up a plan for catalogue size, and your bill goes up by another $19 if you connect a third shop.
