Square & TikTok Shop

Square TikTok Shop integration that keeps the register and the marketplace in step

For shops that ring sales on a Square register and also sell on TikTok Shop. TikTok Shop hands orders out and cannot take one in, so Square is the side that can be told to fill a sale — useful when the counter is where the stock physically is. Both sides tell us the moment something sells, so the other is corrected in under a second.

Who this is for. A Square sale on the counter should drop the TikTok Shop listing before the next shopper buys the same unit online. Tracking numbers will not write back to Square, worth knowing before you buy if you ship a lot from that side.
How to connect

How to connect Square and TikTok Shop

Four steps and about ten minutes. The two connections are a login each; most of the time is us matching your catalogues, and nothing changes until you switch it on.

Connect Square

You sign in to Square and approve QuickSync. It covers your catalogue, stock and orders across the locations you pick.

~1 minute

Connect TikTok Shop

You approve QuickSync in TikTok Shop Seller Center for the shop you want connected.

~1 minute

Let it match your products

We line the two catalogues up by SKU, then by title, and hand you a short list of anything we could not match. You decide what happens to those.

~5 minutes

Watch, then switch it on

Leave it watching for a few days and check the numbers agree. When you are happy, let it start making changes, one shop at a time.

Running the register and the other channel by hand

The register and the TikTok Shop listing are the same unit of stock. When only one of them knows it sold, the other keeps offering it. That is how you oversell.

Correcting Square takes under a second once we have the sale. The order is in your packing list with the TikTok Shop order number on it, and a tracking number added later goes back to TikTok Shop on its own.

The other direction is the same: a sale on Square reaches TikTok Shop just as quickly, because Square pushes it to us the moment it happens too.

Speed and limits

The limits: know them before you connect

Every Square TikTok Shop integration has constraints. These are the ones that apply here.

Quick between Square and TikTok Shop

Both Square and TikTok Shop tell us the moment something sells, so a sale in one is reflected in the other in under a second. There is no polling gap on this pair.

No tracking number back to Square

Square has no field for us to write a tracking number into, so shipping detail lives in QuickSync and in whichever shop the order came from. Counter sales rarely need it; posted ones are worth knowing about.

Nothing publishes itself to Square or TikTok Shop

Copying a listing from Square to TikTok Shop (or the other way) always waits for you to look at it. Stock is the only thing that moves on its own, and only once you have turned it on.

When a video lands

A spike online and a queue at the till at once

Neither side waits on a timer, which is the whole point when demand arrives in a burst.

Square and TikTok Shop both push their changes to us the moment they happen, so nothing here sits behind a scheduled check. The situation that makes this worth paying for is a clip taking off while the shop is open. Units leave through the till and through TikTok Shop at once, and the count each side is working from has to keep up with both, not with whichever one you looked at last.

Square keeps its catalogue for the register and TikTok Shop keeps its own, and neither can see what the other has sold. QuickSync sits between them and corrects each side from the other rather than making either the master, so a sale at the counter lowers what TikTok Shop will sell and a TikTok Shop order lowers what the register will let you ring up. Items pair by SKU, which is the thing to get right first.

Two things to check

Fifty characters, and tracking that stops at QuickSync

The SKU limit is TikTok Shop’s; the tracking gap is Square’s.

Square will hold a SKU up to 80 characters and TikTok Shop takes 50, so 50 is the length to design to. Anything longer is truncated on the way to TikTok Shop and stops matching the item it came from. We truncate rather than refuse to send, so nothing errors and nothing turns red; the item simply drops out of sync and you find out when its count has drifted.

The other thing to plan for is tracking. Square has no field for a tracking number, so we cannot write one back to a Square sale. If a customer orders at the counter for posting later, the tracking lives in QuickSync rather than on the Square record, and anyone who works out of Square all day should know that before they go looking. Counter sales that walk out of the shop never need one.

Pricing

Two shops fits the smallest plan

Your catalogue size picks the plan, and your plan price covers two connected shops with every shop after that adding it again. Three shops on Lite is $38 a month.

Lite

$19/mo for two shops

1,000 items and up to eight connected integrations, with stock matched on both sides automatically. Enough for Square and TikTok Shop on their own, at $19 a month for the two.

Pro

$29/mo for two shops

2,500 items and up to eight connected integrations. Listings and orders sync here as well as stock. Most sellers running two shops properly end up here.

Ultra at $69 and Ultra+ at $99 add larger catalogues, price rules and setup help. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial and no card.

FAQ

Questions people ask about this pair

How quickly does TikTok Shop update after something sells on Square?

Under a second in normal conditions. Square tells us the moment the sale happens and we write the new count to TikTok Shop straight away. The reverse is the same when TikTok Shop sells. If either side is briefly unreachable we hold the update and keep trying rather than dropping it.

Can I connect Square to TikTok Shop?

Not directly. Neither platform reads the other’s catalogue, so a tool in the middle is what makes it work. QuickSync matches items by SKU and holds one count across the till and the TikTok Shop listings. Keep SKUs to 50 characters or fewer, because that is the TikTok Shop limit and the tighter of the two.

How quickly does a TikTok Shop sale reach my Square till?

Both sides push changes to us as they happen, so there is no timer in this pair. A TikTok Shop order lowers the count the register works from, and a counter sale lowers what TikTok Shop can sell. That is the behaviour you want on a day when a video is running and the shop is busy.

Do I have to re-list my Square products on TikTok Shop?

No. We match your existing Square and TikTok Shop listings by SKU first, then by title, and hand you a short list of whatever we could not match. You can also copy a listing from one side to the other if you want it in both places; that step always waits for you.

Can I charge a different price on TikTok Shop?

Yes. Set a rule once for TikTok Shop: a percentage, a fixed uplift, or a price you type yourself. We apply it whenever the price changes, and nothing forces Square and TikTok Shop to the same number.

Does the tracking number go back to both shops?

Not to Square. Square has no way for us to send a tracking number back, so the shipping detail stays in QuickSync and in whichever shop the order came from.

Does a TikTok Shop order get recreated on Square?

No. The order stays on TikTok Shop. We pull it into your one QuickSync list next to your Square orders so you pack from one place, without creating a duplicate Square order for it.

What happens if a buyer cancels or I refund them on Square or TikTok Shop?

The stock goes back. A cancellation or a refund puts the item back into your count and we send the corrected number to both Square and TikTok Shop.

Which plan do I need for Square and TikTok Shop?

Lite covers Square and TikTok Shop. Lite is $19 a month for two shops and holds 1,000 items, with up to eight connected integrations. You would move up a plan for catalogue size, and your bill goes up by another $19 if you connect a third shop.
