TikTok listing restrictions

Connect your stores Updated 10 Oct 2026 5 min read

A TikTok listing restriction means TikTok has stopped taking new listings from your shop for a while. There are three kinds: a daily cap, a total cap while your shop is on probation, and a block until a set date after policy violations.

We can’t lift any of them. We usually tell you which one you’ve hit by email, and we keep sending stock to the listings you already have. Below: how to tell them apart, and what to do.

Which one you’ve hit

TikTok sends one error for all three. The message differs, so we know which one hit, and each has its own email.

RestrictionOur emailWhen it ends
Daily capProduct limit exceededWhen TikTok’s daily limit resets
Probation capTikTok total listing limit reachedWhen TikTok raises your cap, or you remove listings
Block until a dateListing restriction warningOn the date in the email

A product TikTok refused waits under Needs attention on the Products page. It shows TikTok listing limit reached, whichever of the three stopped it. Some policy blocks come worded differently. Those show TikTok temporarily restricted new listings, with the end time when TikTok gives one. We don’t email you about those.

Daily cap

If TikTok’s message mentions neither probation nor a date, we treat it as the daily limit. The first time it happens, we switch on Continue after listing limits in your TikTok store’s Review settings. We also email you “Product limit exceeded”.

That setting can send more products later. TikTok’s daily listing limit explains when.

Probation cap

TikTok puts new shops on probation. Each probation tier caps the total number of products a shop can list. TikTok’s US guide sets the cap at 100 products for a Beginner shop, 200 for Standard and 1,000 for Premium, and says TikTok can adjust it.

When TikTok says your cap is full, we email you “TikTok total listing limit reached”, at most once a week. It’s a total cap, not a daily allowance. So we don’t queue the rest for later.

You’ll find your current cap on the Probation page in TikTok Seller Center. To make room, remove listings you no longer need, or finish TikTok’s tasks to move up a tier. Then open each product that didn’t list. Click Retry sync on its Sync verdict tab.

Block until a date

This one follows policy violations, such as listing items TikTok doesn’t allow. TikTok stops the shop listing new products until a set date, and gives us that date. We email it to you as “Listing restriction warning”, once per restriction.

Until then, each new listing we send fails. Retrying early fails the same way. Check the violations in TikTok Seller Center. Appeal there if you think TikTok got it wrong. After the date, open each product that didn’t list. Click Sync product to send it again.

When TikTok holds one listing

TikTok can also hold back a single listing. While TikTok reviews one, we leave it alone. Syncing picks up again once TikTok approves it.

If TikTok rejected or froze a listing, or it has an unpublished draft in Seller Center, we don’t edit it. We email you once a week, naming the listing. A frozen listing refuses stock updates too. Fix it in Seller Center, then click Sync product in QuickSync.

Keep risky products off TikTok

New products reach TikTok on their own. With product syncing on, everything you add to your main store goes there, and TikTok judges it against its own rules. If part of your range breaks them, use a sync list (Pro and above), so only the products on it sync.

A sync list doesn’t stop at TikTok: it covers all your stores. A product you leave off it stops syncing everywhere, stock included.

Common questions

Why did my product exports to TikTok stop?

TikTok has stopped taking new listings from your shop. There are three causes: a daily cap, a total cap during probation, or a block until a set date after policy violations. We usually email you about the one TikTok names: Product limit exceeded (the first time only), TikTok total listing limit reached, or Listing restriction warning. Meanwhile, we keep sending stock to the listings you already have on TikTok.

Can QuickSync remove a TikTok listing restriction?

No. TikTok sets these limits, and only TikTok can lift them. Retrying in QuickSync or running QuickFix won’t get past one. Check the restriction, and any tasks TikTok shows, in Seller Center. Appeal there if you think it’s wrong. Once it ends, click Sync product on each product that didn’t list, and we’ll send it again.

How many products can a new TikTok shop list?

It’s TikTok’s call, and it can change your limit as your shop performs. Its US guide caps a shop on probation at 100 listings in total at the Beginner tier, 200 at Standard and 1,000 at Premium. TikTok can also cap how many new listings a shop adds in one day. You’ll see your current limits on the Probation page in TikTok Seller Center.

The restriction date has passed. Why can’t I list yet?

Try once more: open a product that didn’t list and click Sync product. If TikTok still refuses it, its answer tells us which limit applies now. You’ll get a fresh email if TikTok has set a new date. TikTok’s end date comes without a time zone, so the last day can still fail. If it keeps failing, check Seller Center or contact TikTok.
