API #
- The set of endpoints provided by e-commerce platforms (such as Shopify or Square) that QuickSync uses to communicate, sync products, update inventory, and manage orders.
Attribute #
- The details of a product, such as size, color, material, or weight. Attributes can apply to the product or to specific variants.
B #
Barcode #
- A unique scannable code (such as UPC or EAN) assigned to a product or variant for quick identification and tracking in inventory systems and at checkout.
Billing #
- The system used to manage organization subscriptions and payments, including plan selection, billing status (active or inactive), and the designated billing store for charges.
C #
Category #
A way to group similar products (such as Clothing, Electronics, or Home Decor), so customers can easily browse and find items in an online store or marketplace
Child Store #
A connected store in a multichannel inventory sync system that automatically receives product, inventory, and pricing updates from a master store. Any changes made in the master store are instantly synced to all linked child stores, ensuring real-time data consistency across sales channels.
Currency Conversion #
Automatic currency conversion automatically adjusts product prices when your connected stores use different currencies.
Change Log #
A record of API and integration changes for each release, including new features, improvements, and bug fixes, so users can see what has changed over time.
Compare at Price #
A product’s original or regular price shown next to the current sale price to highlight a discount or promotion.
D #

- A product description stored as HTML, supporting rich formatting such as fonts, colors, and embedded images.
- Used when syncing to platforms that support HTML descriptions
Description (Text) #
- A plain-text description with no styling or images (No formatting).
- Used when syncing to platforms that don’t support HTML (e.g. QuickBooks) or when a plain-text field is required.
Draft Products #
Products synced to a store in an unpublished (not yet live) state, allowing merchants to review and edit them before making them visible to customers.
Digital Products #
- Products delivered electronically (such as downloads or e-books) that do not require physical shipping.
- They are not tracked as physical inventory and are synced according to each platform’s digital product settings
Destination #
The store that receives synced products. Products are exported from the master store to destination (child) stores during synchronization.
E #
Export #
- The process of sending products or orders from the master store to child (destination) stores.
- Product export creates or updates products on connected platforms, while order export transfers orders to the designated fulfillment store.
Event #
A real-time notification sent from a sales channel to QuickSync when an event occurs, such as a new order, product update, or inventory change. This enables QuickSync to immediately detect updates and sync data across connected stores without manual intervention.
F #
Fulfillment #
The process of completing a customer’s order, which includes picking the products, packing them, and shipping them to the customer.
Fulfillment Store #
- The store designated to receive and fulfill orders from all other connected stores.
- Orders are synced to this store for picking, packing, and shipping to customers.
Note: Only stores that support fulfillment (e.g., Shopify, Clover) can be set as the fulfillment store
I #
Inventory Proxy Mapping #
QuickSync feature that caps displayed stock at platform limits (for example: Etsy limits stock to 999 units and doesn’t allow negatives. QuickSync reports 999 or 1 as appropriate while tracking true inventory internally).
Inventory Syncing #
- Real-time updating of stock quantities across all connected sales channels.
- When inventory changes in one store, it automatically updates across all stores, helping prevent overselling and stock shortages.
Inventory #
The available stock quantity of a product or variant, tracked per location through the VariantInventory record.
Integration #
- The link between QuickSync and an external platform account, such as Shopify, Square, Clover, or a third-party logistics (3PL) provider.
- Each connection uses its own credentials and platform-specific setup to sync products, inventory, and orders.
L #
Location Connection #
- A QuickSync feature that connects matching locations across different sales channels (for example, Shopify’s “Warehouse A” with Square’s “Warehouse A”) so they are treated as the same location.
- This keeps inventory levels accurate and consistent during synchronization.
Listing #
- A product or item published on a marketplace (such as Etsy).
- The listing cost is the fee charged by the platform per listing, which QuickSync can calculate when syncing products to a destination store.
M #
Marketplace #
- An online platform where multiple independent sellers list and sell products on a single website (such as Etsy, eBay, Amazon, or Walmart Marketplace).
- The marketplace manages the storefront and payments, while sellers handle their listings, pricing, and fulfillment.
- QuickSync can connect to multiple marketplaces to sync products and inventory across them.
Master Store #
- The primary source of truth for products and inventory in QuickSync.
- Each organization has one master store, and any changes made there automatically sync to all connected child stores.
- Only products in the master store are synced to other sales channels.
Merchants #
QuickSync customers who connect their e-commerce or POS systems to the platform to manage and sync their products, inventory, and orders.
O #
Online Store #
A merchant’s own e-commerce website where they list and sell products and manage fulfillment. It is built on platforms such as Shopify or WooCommerce. Unlike a marketplace, the merchant controls the branding, pricing, and customer experience. QuickSync can connect both online stores and marketplaces for synchronization.
Option Groups #
A way to organize a product’s variations, such as size, color, or material. Each group contains the different options a customer can choose when purchasing the product.
Options #
An individual choice within an option group. For example, in a size option group, the options could be Small, Medium, or Large.
Order Syncing #
The process of automatically sending orders from source stores to a fulfillment store and, where supported, syncing order updates (e.g. cancellations, tracking numbers, carriers) back to the originating channels.
Overselling #
- Selling more units than are available in stock. This usually happens when inventory is not updated quickly across all sales channels, resulting in canceled orders and a poor customer experience.
- QuickSync helps prevent overselling by syncing inventory in real time and supporting out-of-stock policies such as “deny”.
P #
Partially Fulfilled #
When an order is only partly shipped or completed. For example, if a customer orders 5 items but only 3 are shipped, the order is partially fulfilled.
POS (Point of sale) #
The system used to process sales in a physical location (e.g. retail counter, pop-up, market). It usually includes hardware (barcode scanners, card readers, registers) and software to record transactions, update inventory, and connect to online channels.
Pop Up Shop #
A temporary booth or retail space set up for a short period, such as during an event, festival, or seasonal sale. It allows merchants to sell in person and promote their brand without maintaining a permanent store location.
Product Syncing #
Automatic creation, update, and deletion of products and variants from the master store to all connected child stores.
Price Adjustment #
A feature that automatically increases or decreases prices by a fixed amount or percentage to cover marketplace listing fees.
R #
Race Condition #
A situation where two or more updates happen at the same time, which can cause incorrect stock counts if not handled properly (for example, without proper locking).
Release Notes #
A summary of the new features, improvements, bug fixes, or other changes included in each QuickSync update. They help users stay informed about what’s new or improved in the platform after each software release.
Retail Price #
The selling price of a product that customers pay when purchasing from your store or marketplace.
S #
Selective Syncing #
A feature that allows merchants to choose specific products to sync instead of syncing the entire product catalog.
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) #
The search engine optimization details that QuickSync can sync, typically including the page title and meta description for each product or listing.
SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) #
A unique identifier for each product variant used to match (align) variants between different stores.
Source Store #
The primary store or sales channel used as the starting point for initial data synchronization. Its inventory levels act as the baseline during setup, ensuring all connected channels begin with accurate and consistent stock and product information.
Stripe
The payment platform used by QuickSync for subscription billing and plan management.
T #
Tags #
A short keyword or label added to a product (like “summer”, “sale”, or “new arrival”) to help organize, filter, and search products within your store or across sales channels.
Tax #
The sales tax or value-added tax (VAT) applied to a product’s price, which the merchant collects and remits to the appropriate government authority.
Throttling #
Limits set by a platform or API to control the number of requests that can be made in a given time period. Throttling helps prevent overload and keeps services stable.
Timeout #
When a request to a platform or API takes too long to respond and is automatically stopped.
Tracking Number #
A unique number attached to a Shipment used to track its status. In QuickSync’s order syncing feature tracking details are pushed from the fulfillment store back to all originating sales channels.
Token #
A credential used to securely access a platform’s API (such as an access token or refresh token) when connecting a store through OAuth authentication.
U #
Unit Price #
The cost for a single unit of a product, used to calculate the total price when a customer buys multiple quantities.
V #
Variant #
A specific version of a product, such as a different size or color, with its own SKU and inventory.
Vendor #
The brand, manufacturer, or supplier that provides the product. Helps identify the product source and can be used for filtering or reporting in your online store.
Visibility #
- The published state of a product on each sales channel. For example
- Draft: A product that is only visible internally to the user and their staff
- Active: A product in the Active state can be checked out and bought by the end user (customer)
- Inactive / Archived: A product that is typically not visible to anyone
- Different platforms use their own terms (for example, Hidden, Draft, or Archived).
- QuickSync maps these platform-specific terms to a standard status so you can manage product availability consistently across all integrations.
W #
Webhook #
A real-time notification used to send updates (such as new orders or inventory changes) from a store to QuickSync.
