Selective Product Syncing

Selective Product Syncing is a feature that allows merchants to choose specific products to sync between platforms instead of syncing the entire product catalog.

This feature gives you more control over which products appear in your connected sales channels. It is especially useful for merchants who only want to sync certain items, collections, or test products without affecting the rest of their inventory.

What is Selective Syncing? #

By default, most integrations sync all products in your catalog between connected platforms. With selective product syncing, you can choose only the products you want to sync. This means QuickSync will ignore any products that are not selected for syncing.

This helps merchants:

  • Control which products appear on other platforms
  • Avoid syncing unwanted or draft items
  • Test integrations with a small set of products
  • Manage multi-channel catalogs more efficiently

Why Use Selective Syncing? #

Selective Syncing is useful when you do not want to sync your entire product catalog across platforms. Some common reasons merchants use this feature include:

  • Sync Only Specific Products: You may want to sell only certain products on a particular marketplace or POS system.
  • Test Product Syncing: Selective syncing allows you to test the integration with a few products first before syncing your full catalog.
  • Manage Large Product Catalogs: Stores with large catalogs may prefer syncing only high-priority or active products to other platforms.
  • Avoid Duplicate Listings: If some products already exist in another platform, selective syncing helps prevent duplicates by syncing only the items you choose.

How Selective Syncing Works in QuickSync #

When Selective Syncing is enabled, QuickSync will only sync products that you explicitly select. The process typically works as follows:

  1. Come to the QuickSync Dashboard, and there you will see a tab “Sync Product”. Click on that button then two options will be displayed to you. Either sync all the products or sync selected products.
  2. Ensure to choose “Sync selected products” and enable syncing for those selected products.
  3. QuickSync now syncs only the chosen items between platforms.

Products that are not selected will remain unchanged and will not be synced.

Common Use Cases #

  • Marketplace-Specific Products: Some merchants sell certain products only on specific platforms such as marketplaces or POS systems. Selective syncing allows you to control where each product appears.
  • Seasonal or Limited Products: You may only want to sync seasonal items or promotional products for a limited time.
  • Testing New Integrations: When setting up a new integration, merchants often prefer syncing a small group of products first to confirm everything works correctly.
  • Managing Multi-Channel Sales: Multi-channel syncing selectively makes it easier to manage different product assortments across multiple sales channels.
