This page answers eBay Integration FAQs about using QuickSync with eBay, including listing requirements, SKU formatting, business policies, and order tracking updates.
If you are syncing products or orders between your store and eBay, the FAQs below will help explain common behaviors and troubleshooting scenarios.
General Integration #
Q1. What happens if my eBay Business Policies are missing or renamed?
If your Payment, Shipping, or Return Business Policies are missing or renamed in eBay, QuickSync will temporarily block product export for the affected listings.
This prevents listings from failing or being published with incorrect settings. When this occurs, QuickSync will prompt you to select valid policies for:
- Payment
- Shipping
- Returns
Helpful links will also be provided so you can quickly locate and update your eBay Business Policies. Once valid policies are selected, your listings can be exported normally.
Q2. How much does eBay charge per listing?
eBay typically charges a $0.35 insertion fee per listing. This fee is part of eBay’s standard marketplace pricing and may vary depending on:
- Your seller plan
- Monthly free listing allowances
- Category-specific rules
QuickSync does not charge this fee. The app follows and applies eBay’s platform rules when publishing listings. For the most accurate and updated information, refer to eBay’s official fee documentation.
Product Sync #
Q1. My SKU has spaces or symbols. Is that okay?
Yes, SKUs can include spaces or special characters. QuickSync automatically URL-encodes SKUs when communicating with eBay’s API. This ensures that SKUs with spaces, symbols, or formatting differences are handled correctly during:
- Inventory updates
- Listing creation
- Offer updates
You do not need to manually modify your SKU formatting before syncing.
Q2. Why did my eBay listing fail to publish?
There are several common reasons why an eBay listing may fail to publish.
These include:
- Missing or invalid Business Policies
- Reaching your monthly listing limit
- Inventory or quantity issues
- Missing ship-from location address
- Restricted or prohibited keywords in the listing
- Temporary eBay API or rate limits
If a listing fails to publish, QuickSync will display the error message returned by eBay so you can identify and resolve the issue quickly.
Q3. Do you publish listings with duration Good ’Til Cancelled (GTC)?
Yes. QuickSync publishes eBay listings using the Good ’Til Cancelled (GTC) duration by default.
GTC listings automatically renew every month until the item is sold or the listing is manually ended. This is the standard listing duration used by most professional eBay sellers.
Order Sync #
Q1. Can QuickSync update tracking numbers on eBay orders?
Yes. When order syncing is enabled, QuickSync can automatically send shipping details back to eBay after an order is fulfilled.
This includes:
- Shipping carrier
- Tracking number
Once the fulfillment is completed in your connected store, QuickSync pushes the tracking information to eBay so customers can track their shipments directly from the eBay order page.
